Hi,
It would be extremely helpful if there was a search for a view via its hex address. Ie you get a dump from a constraint such as this. I'd like to be able to find the View via 0x7e281a50. I think apply may have search soon their Xcode6 visual debugger but I like your product better so far. They also have TILT in the up down direction. Reveal doesn't have that but it would be super useful to be able to see below something by tilting up or down.

Hey Wally,

Thanks for the feedback. Search is definitely on the roadmap, so you'll need to hang tight for that one.

We made a conscious decision to not allow rotating on two axis at the same time because it makes the interaction more complex i.e. it's quite easy to end up with the scene upside down and back to front :). We may add some kind of axis rotation lock in the future though, which would maintain ease of use but also allow for rotation on other axis.

Cheers

Sean

Hi Sean,
Will that be "soon" to hang tight on. We are building quite a complex app and we love your product. It would be immensely helpful to be able to search on this.
I'm willing to test out even a build you have with this feature!
Thanks Sean
Wally

It's on the roadmap, but I can't comment on timeframes. We definitely understand and appreciate the need for such a feature.

Cheers

I second this suggestion. It would be extremely helpful for debugging constraint issues rather than having to click on each element and compare their addresses with the ones shown by xcode warnings.

Awesome product, by the way. Keep up the great work.

The new reveal just came out. Is this feature somehow hidden in there? Or is it still not there? Just wondering! Thanks much!

Sorry Wally, we had so much other stuffed packed in for 1.5 we couldn't fit it in. :(

I would find this feature extremely valuable too, since it is directly linked to the errors that the autolayout system dumps in the console (unless you find a way to trap these, analyze the stderr report and directly highlight the conflicting constraints in Reveal, of course :)

For what it's worth, at least in my case the new update helped a lot. You guys have done an amazing job with all the new constraints handling. Very impressive!

Hi Sean.. I noticed there was another update to Reveal? Has this feature made it in yet?
We are working on some interesting stuff and this could really help us.

Hi Wally. Sorry, no 1.5.1 was a bug fix update and adding search will be a significant update.

I agree that this would be a great feature for debugging autolayout problems when you have no idea what views and constraints are involved. Please add this for next version.

Otherwise Im also a very satisfied customer :)

Thanks Wally, we've wanted to add memory address filtering for a long time. We're super happy it's in there now, and I'm glad you are too!
