You can get the latest version from or by using Check for Updates in the Reveal menu.

New Features

  • Layer property editing (not all properties just yet - sit tight).
  • Added inspectors for UITableView, UITableViewCell, UITableViewHeaderFooterView, UIPickerView, UINavigationBar, UIRefreshControl, UICollectionViewCell, UICollectionView, UITabBar, & UIPopoverBackgroundView.
  • You can now see and change the font for UILabel and UITextfield.
  • Added Text/Keyboard traits editing on UITextView and UITextField.

  • Canvas render & display mode selections are saved between launches.
  • We've changed some of the keyboard shortcuts. Check out the menu items or read the Help > Keyboard shortcuts document to familiarise yourself with them.
  • New Navigate menu contains items to help navigate the view hierarchy.
  • New option (⌘6) to toggle the visibility of hidden views in the canvas. Hidden views are always shown in the outline view slightly darker than visible views.
  • You can set the opacity of hidden views displayed in the canvas.

  • You can now adjust the 3D Z-distance of views in the canvas using ⌘⌥-Scroll Wheel Up/Down.

  • Improved connection error reporting and logging.
  • You can control the verbosity of Reveal's logging via an API. See the Reveal.framework headers for more information.

Bug Fixes

  • Performance improvements & minor fixes.
  • Fixed issues when connecting to a device over a wireless network shared from a Mac.
  • We've (hopefully) fixed the issue with text in the outline view disappearing.
  • Changing the accessibility label of a view now updates the text in the outline view.
  • Fixed intermittent issue with the right-hand (attribute inspector) panel not expanding after being collapsed.
  • Fixed rendering of UIImageViews with stretchable images.
